Dozens of Oncor employees are heading to the East Coast Monday morning to start the 22-hour drive toward Baltimore, MD. The workers will help with the numerous power outages expected when Hurricane Sandy hits.

North Texas Oncor workers will head to the Northeast as numerous power outages are expected when Hurricane Sandy hits.
Dozens of Oncor employees left North Texas at about 6:30 a.m. Monday on a 22-hour drive toward Baltimore, MD.
Around 60 workers loaded up the bucket trucks and service trucks, just as they did in August when workers were needed in Louisiana with Hurricane Isaac.
Oncor crews will be help Baltimore Gas and Electric restore power to thousands of customers expected to be hit by Hurricane Sandy.
Many people along the East Coast are stocking up on generators. Some expecting to be without power for a week.
Power companies are trying to avoid a repeat of Hurricane Irene in 2011, when utilities were criticized for slow response.
Companies are watching the storm's path trying to predict how many people will be without power and where to send relief crews. Some companies are talking about using aircraft to help quickly pinpoint problem areas.
Local Oncor workers spent the weekend getting ready.
Oncor is also freeing up 60 additional contractors to help in Maryland and New York.
