Police are investigating a quadruple shooting that took place Thursday morning at an apartment complex in Northeast Dallas. Authorities are searching for the gunman.

One man is dead and three people are injured after a quadruple shooting at an apartment complex in Dallas Thursday morning.
The shooting happened at about 12:30 a.m. at the Aspen chase Apartments on 11700 Ferguson Road, just a few hours after the complex wrapped up its Halloween celebration.
Investigators believe the shooting happened inside of a nearby first floor apartment. Police discovered one man shot to death in a breezeway. They found two other men and a woman with gunshot wounds inside of that apartment.
Homicide investigators do not know why the shooting took place.
The medical examiner has identified the shooting victim that did not survive, but hasn't released his name. The office is having a hard time notifying his relatives.
It's upsetting to neighbors at Aspen Chase, who believe the murder victim is the man who lives in the apartment with his girlfriend.
"It's just sad that people go to that violence to kill someone, probably over nonsense," says neighbor Jeff Cassidy. "I could have been walking home from trick-or-treating last night with a daughter or friend. It could have been me. It's very sad."
Homicide investigators are talking with a witness who was in the apartment and saw the shooting unfold, but wasn't hurt.
Police say it doesn't look like the gunman had to break down the apartment door to get in. At this point, investigators believe the victims may have known the gunman.
The three surviving victims had to be rushed to area hospitals. At least one is in critical condition.
Neighbors hope police can get more information about the shooter to help catch the killer.
