Dallas police are searching for a gunman, possibly more than one, following two separate shootings at a local motel. One of the shootings turned deadly.
Both shootings happened at America's Best Value Inn in the 4100-block of Preferred Place in Dallas.
Detectives are investigating if the two shootings are related.
Both men were shot in the motel parking lot just three hours apart.
Police are questioning the first victim, who survived. The second victim did not make it.
The motel manager says he heard gunfire at about 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, looked out, and saw the wounded victim and a blue Cadillac circling the parking lot. The manager called 911, and the car took off. The victim took a bullet to the head and died at Methodist Hospital. Officers say he had a pistol in his pocket, but apparently didn't grab it.
Earlier, at about 11:30 p.m. Monday, a 37-year-old man was grazed by a bullet in the head. He was treated and released at the hospital and was back at the motel talking with investigators when the second shooting happened.
Crime scene technicians gathered evidence from the backside of the motel.
A man and a woman were taken separately by officers for questioning at the police department. The two appear to be possible witnesses.
