Students pledge to stop saying the R-word at Radnor High School.
A Garland High School student will face a judge Thursday morning for allegedly bringing a loaded gun to school.
Carlos Rodriguez, 17, is facing a felony charge for having a prohibited weapon in a weapons-free zone.
Police say Rodriguez brought a loaded gun to school on Wednesday.
School leaders received a tip that Rodriguez might have brought a gun on campus.
School authorities tracked him down and say they found a loaded pistol in his backpack.
The school resource officer arrested him, and took Rodriguez to the Garland Detention Center. The teen spent the night there.
Staff at the detention center tell NBC 5 that Rodriguez is scheduled for an arraignment hearing between 10 a.m. and noon on Thursday.
The judge will set a bond for the teen.
Police haven't said why the teen may have brought the loaded gun to school or what he intended to do with it.
