A wrong-way crash caused lane closures on the westbound lanes of Interstate 635 in north Dallas Monday morning.
Officers arrived at the crash near Welch Road at about 4:15 a.m. All westbound lanes of I-635 were shut down a few hours following the crash.
Three children in a SUV have been transported to Dallas Children's Hospital and two adult women have been transported to another local hospital, authorities tell NBC 5.
The wrong-way driver fled the scene on foot. A K-9 unit was on the scene searching for the driver.
Two ambulances are on the scene.
