The Texas Rangers are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened at a Lewisville McDonald's Wednesday night.

An armed man approached and threatened a McDonald's drive-thru customer in Lewisville Wednesday night, according to police.
The Texas Rangers are investigating the incident that started in the drive-thru line at McDonald's on FM 3040 around 10:20 p.m.
Police say the gunman walked up to a drive-thru customer and threatened the customer. Police believe the victim and gunman did not know each other and don't know yet why the customer was targeted.
The customer was not hurt.
The drive-thru worker saw the gun, feared the restaurant was about to be robbed, and called police. The gunman took off. The employee did get a good description of the man, his pickup truck, and the Oklahoma license plate number.
Police in the area quickly caught up with the man as he tried to get away through a strip mall parking lot behind McDonald's as he approached the frontage road to Interstate 35 near the Vista Ridge Mall.
Three Lewisville police officers ordered the gunman out of the car.
"Officers did what is called a 'known-risk stop' on the vehicle," said Captain Kevin Deaver, Lewisville Police Department. "The driver got out, displayed a handgun, pointed it at officers, they fired up on that person."
Right now, police are not saying how many of the 3 officers shot at the suspect. Evidence shows they fired off at least a dozen rounds.
Lewisville Fire paramedics rushed the man to the hospital. Police are not saying if he survived the shooting.
All three officers are on routine administrative leave as the Texas Rangers investigate.
