A Lewisville Wal-Mart employee is recovering after a woman suspected of stealing tried to run her over with a car Wednesday evening, witnesses say.
The incident occurred at the Wal-Mart at 190 East Round Grove Road in Lewisville.
The Wal-Mart employee followed the woman, who employees said had been in the store trying to steal items, into the parking lot and attempted to confront her.
Witnesses said the woman hopped into a car and started driving erratically. She first hit a tree and then she struck and tried to run over the female Wal-Mart employee.
Officers were able to located and arrest the woman a short time later.
Paramedics took the Wal-Mart employee, who had non-life-threatening injuries, to a hospital.
