We're still closely tracking that Christmas Day storm...and it still looks like it will start off as chilly rain through the midday hours, then by the afternoon/early evening we could see a wintry mix of rain and snow across North Texas. By Christmas night, it appears any precipitation left would switch to all snow.
At this time, it looks like the Metroplex could see up to two inches of snow accumulation by Tuesday night, with higher amounts possible closer to the Red River. Again this forecast will be changing so stay with NBC 5 for the latest.
Temperatures will get really cold Christmas Day, falling into the 30s by the afternoon and teens and 20s late Tuesday night.
MONDAY: Partly cloudy and cooler. High 54. Wind: N 5-15 mph.
CHRISTMAS DAY: Cloudy, colder and windy with a 60% chance of rain, possibly changing or mixing with snow by afternoon/evening. Some accumulation possible. Low 40. High 44. Wind: N 15-30 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and cold. Low 21. High 35. Wind: NW 10-20 mph.
THURSDAY: Partly sunny and chilly. Low: 25. High 47. Wind: E/SE 10-15 mph.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers. Low 38. High 53. Wind: SW 10-15 mph.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, cool and dry. Low: 31. High: 52. Wind: NW 10-15 mph.
SUNDAY: Partly cloudy, cool & dry. Low: 34. High: 58. Wind: SW 10 mph.
